the epiphany of our lord
Sermon
A note from Pastor regarding his sermon:
The appearance of the wise men from the East to worship Jesus Christ is traditionally the story that commemorates Epiphany – the revelation of Jesus as the Savior of humanity, made known to Gentiles as well as to Jews. We continue to use the word ‘epiphany’ to refer to a sudden insight or discovery, as some truth suddenly “dawns” on us. The Greek origin of the word suggests that epiphany is something that comes out of the light. So as we celebrate Epiphany this year, we give thanks to God that He has seen fit to let His light shine upon all of the peoples of this world – including us – and we also give thanks of the ways He continues to reveal His truth to us through His Word.
