Sermon
A note from Pastor regarding his sermon:
Our Gospel reading for this week tells the story of Jesus casting out an unclean spirit from a man in Gentile territory. In several ways, this story reinforces the lesson we read last week, confessing Jesus Christ to be true God in human flesh, sent to deliver us from our sins. But we might take special note this week how much comfort this story offers us, in showing Christ’s mastery over the worst of all possible obstacles. This man is a Gentile, living in the most unclean of circumstances, possessed by numerous unclean spirits. And yet, Jesus still has the power and the desire to cleanse this man, just as He has the power and the desire to save all of humanity from its sin!
