sixteenth sunday after pentecost
Sermon
A note from Pastor regarding his sermon:
As we return to the familiar line of Sundays in the church year following Pentecost, we also return to a familiar theme for the readings we hear during the Summer: the danger of money in the life of a Christian. Each of our readings for this week illustrate some of the dangers involved in thinking too much about worldly wealth, and letting that obsession crowd out our trust and devotion to God, the source of all of our blessings and true Master. By seeing wealth as the distraction it can so easily become in our lives, perhaps we can be better prepared to keep our focus where it truly should be!
