Sermon
A note from Pastor regarding his sermon:
The Parable of the Sower is our Gospel reading for this week, and it is perhaps the most familiar of the parables Jesus uses to teach those who come to listen to Him. And He closes His parable with another familiar declaration: “He who has ears, let him hear.”
But this expression is more than just a marker that His lesson has ended. It serves as an indication that there is more to what Jesus has just said than might occur to us at first glance. Most of the parables, in fact, have deeper meanings for those who take the time to carefully consider Christ’s words and hunt for theological truth. And today’s Gospel reading is no exception. So let’s listen with fresh ears to what Jesus teaches as He tells us the Parable of the Sower!
