A note from Pastor regarding his sermon:
As Jeremiah and Paul no doubt experienced, living a life faithful to God can be exhausting in this world. There are temptations and enemies all around us, and the care we must take not to be misled or deceived can lead us to confusion, despair, or hopelessness. God calls us to be set apart from the world and its many sins and temptations, all the same.
But He also calls us to love the world even while we refuse to be conformed to it. And as we read reminders about what it means to be in the world, but not of it, we are reminded that this is precisely the way our Savior Jesus Christ comes to us. And we can take comfort from the fact that Jesus has overcome the world, overcome sin, and overcome death on our behalf!
