And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the wordwithout fear. (Philippians 1:14)

SCRIPTURE READINGS

HYMNS FOR THE DAY

seventeenth sunday after pentecost

Sermon

A note from Pastor regarding his sermon:

As we continue to live in this world stained by sin and look forward to Christ’s return and the everlasting life we will share with Him in a new and perfect creation, we frequently pray that Christ will return quickly. This is a perfectly understandable and reverent request, but it can sometimes lead people to wondering why we continue to linger in this world and this flesh, corrupted as they are with sin and temptation.

Our readings for this week give us something of an answer to this question, reminding us of the patience and the mercy of God… and that there is plenty for us to do as we await Jesus’ return!
