With the beginning of a new Advent season, the church celebrates the beginning of another church year. We all know that Advent is a season of preparation, as we look forward to the wonderful news of Christmas and the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. But Advent is more than just a preparation to celebrate an historical event in the past; it also reminds us to look forward to Christ’s coming once again, as He will at the end of this age. So as we decorate the church for Advent and see the signs of Christmas all around us – even in our community at large – let us remind ourselves what it is we’re truly waiting for!
