Sermon
Please read the note below from Pastor Woodhouse regarding his sermon:
The day has finally arrived! We’ve been practicing “This is the Feast” and Divine Service, Setting One, and now All Saints’ Day gives us the chance to celebrate a foretaste of the feast of victory we look forward to with such great anticipation, which will begin in earnest when we are all reunited with God in a new and perfect creation – a feast that will never end!
But as we remember all of the saints that have gone before us into glory and await that joyous reunion, we should also remember that Christ’s victory over sin, death and the devil is also our victory, and that victory has already been won by His sacrifice on the cross. The foretaste of the feast we receive each week at the altar in the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper is, indeed, part of that victory feast for us in this moment, celebrated with “angels, and archangels, and all the company of heaven.” Here and now, we celebrate with all the saints in heaven and across the world!
